A Practicing Physical Therapist since 1979, Emilie Connor completed her training at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. She went on to become a nationally board certified and licensed Acupuncturist in 1994, after graduating with honors from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture TSCA). She is also a Certified Feng Shui consultant and works with Chinese Astrology.
Emilie apprenticed with Master Practitioner, Kiiko Matsumoto for 18 years and as a fellow senior faculty member at TSCA was instrumental in formulating a systematic way to teach Kiiko’s great clinical insights and techniques. A gifted teacher, Emilie coordinated TSCA’s Japanese Acupuncture program for 15 years.
Emilie’s extensive clinical experience includes positions at major teaching hospitals, private clinics, and home care where she developed expertise in orthopedics, neurology, sports medicine, gerontology and pediatrics. She is able to effectively integrate both conventional and alternative modalities reflecting her advanced training in somato-emotional therapies including Myofascial Release (MFR), CranioSacral Therapy (CST), NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy.
Emilie is the founder of the Holistic Health Center of Southbury, where she has been providing quality health care since 1992. In addition to her clinical practice, she has conducted seminars for health care professionals in the field of mindbody medicine across the country and internationally. She has also led trips to Japan for trainings and spiritual journeys. Emilie is the Founder, President and Executive Director of Changing Health, Inc. a nonprofit founded to facilitate community wellness through affordable acupuncture and holistic medicine for underserved populations.
